Grease Trap Service

IMG_0626.jpg

A grease trap (sometimes referred to as a grease interceptor or grease trap interceptor) prevents a restaurant’s grease and debris from entering the main sewage line.

If a grease trap interceptor is not maintained, grease will escape the interceptor and enter the municipal sewage line. Subsequently, if enough grease accumulates, municipal sewage lines will clog and clearing it may shut down a road. The city will analyze the grease sample and trace the culprits, which usually leads to a large fine.

Most municipalities by-laws require interceptors to be cleaned every 4 weeks or whenever 25% of the interceptor’s total volume is filled with fats, oils, solids and debris— whichever comes first.

Restaurants are normally required to keep receipts of service along with a breakdown of the interceptor contents (ie 15% FOG, 80% water, 5% solids), which we provide with every service.
